Coconut Oil Recipe for Preventing Stretch Marks and Scarring

When I became pregnant with my daughter, I had several things to think about including: birthing options, the best foods to eat, and what I could do now to help my body look its best after baby.  A big part of of this preparation was preventing stretch marks!

Since I made the choice to make my home as toxin-free and natural as possible, I put together my own homemade recipe with simple ingredients that are good for my body and my baby. So if you’re wondering, does coconut oil help with stretch marks? The answer is yes! I committed to doing this everyday throughout my pregnancy and today, I’m scar-free! Here’s my recipe:

Simple Ingredients

Coconut Oil is an all natural alternative to many of the toxic chemicals that are sold in drug stores. It’s loaded with good fats, fights the bacteria that cause disease in your body, and penetrates the deeper layers of your skin. Almost ALL of my recipes have coconut oil in them like my sugar scrub recipe and diaper ointment spray. As for the kind of coconut oil, extra virgin coconut oil is ok but it is  greasier than fractionated coconut oil. I prefer fractionated, but switch it up and see what you like best!

Immortelle is a proprietary blend of powerful, renewing, and rare essential oils used throughout history for their beautifying benefits. It’s formulated to protect and nourish skin. These powerful essential oils help sustain smoother, more radiant, and youthful-looking skin as it easily absorbs into the skin. It can be used on the face, neck, belly, and décolletage to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and aging skin.

The immortelle blend includes frankincense, hawaiian sandalwood, lavender, myrrh, helichrysum, and rose essential oils. It has a beautiful rich and earthy aroma that is very calming when the mixture is applied.

Jars are an important part of the decision, too! I put my ointments in these and it’s what a lot of my ointments go in. Plus you can reuse them for honey, jams… great for picnics! You’ll have these in your house forever.
