I was going to bring guac to a party and realized my fresh cilantro was wilted and that Adam had used my last lime in his ginger brew. I also realized how difficult it was to chop onions while holding a newborn so I skipped the chopping and grabbed my essential oils. I was able to create this delicious guacamole in a fraction of the time of my traditional guacamole by just mashing the avocados all while holding a newborn baby. It has all of the flavor with none of the fuss.
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
3 drops doterra lime essential oil
1 drop doterra cilantro essential oil
Sea salt to taste
Method:
Scoop out the flesh of the ripe avocado into a bowl, add essential oils and sea salt. Mash with a fork until desired consistency is achieved. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, veggies, or spread on toast.
Lime Essential Oil: I love this oil because of its refreshing and energizing properties in both aroma and taste. Limes are often used in entrées and beverages for their fresh, citrus flavor - why I knew it would be a great substitute for the actual lime. Due to its high limonene content, Lime provides internal cleansing benefits* and can be diffused to help purify the air. (It’s also an effective and natural surface cleaner, p.s.!)
Cilantro Essential Oil: This adds a fresh, herbal aroma & a flavorful twist to meats, salads, dips, and guacamole! The oil itself promotes healthy digestion & supports healthy immune & nervous system functions. It’s also very soothing and cooling to the skin (perfect for a BBQ guacamole).
When I make a big batch of this to a gathering or a BBQ, it’s always the first thing to go!
Enjoy!
