Top 10 Essential Oils to Enhance Libido

It's about to get spicy in here!

In this article, I'm going to share with you the top ten essential oils to enhance libido. This is a question I get asked about a lot especially from women but also from men too. These essential oils will help support healthy hormone levels and ultimately, they can enhance and arousal and libido. I will also be sharing some bonus uses for these oils, since that is the amazing thing about essential oils, they are multi-purpose.

Top Ten Essential Oils to Enhance Libido
  • Geranium
  • Bergamot
  • Patchouli
  • Sandalwood
  • Rose
  • Neroli
  • Whisper
  • Jasmine
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Wild Orange

First off one of my favorite tips is using a combination of Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, and Wild Orange.

Jasmine

Roll the Jasmine from hip to hip (this is for females). Jasmine helps to awaken the senses, balance hormones, and support the uterus. Personally, I think Jasmine smells delicious, but as a quick note, if you don’t like the smell of an essential oil – don’t use it. Patchouli is on this list, but this is one of my least favorite smelling oils, it works but there are nine other options I can choose from.

Ylang Ylang

You might have heard the phrase, “ylang ylang is for the big bang bang” – this is because Ylang Ylang is a natural aphrodisiac. It has been used for centuries to adorn the beds of newlyweds in other countries and it is said to help put them in the mood, according to tradition and the hormone receptors. So for this combination, you will put Ylang Ylang on the pulse points.

Wild Orange

Add Wild Orange to the pulse points as well on top of the Ylang Ylang. Wild Orange is not specifically for libido or hormones. Wild Orange is known for is ability to boost energy and of course if you’re trying to increase your libido, you might need some energy for the physical activity.

If you are working on enhancing and normalizing your hormones, it is best to use these oils daily, but this is also something you can do before date night or 15 minutes beforehand to get you in the mood.

Whisper

Whisper is another popular oil for increasing libido. It comes in a 10mL roller bottle and is already pre-diluted. Whisper is designed to be a natural perfume that works with your pheromones. Whisper is touted as the blend for women, but it smells amazing on men too.

Ingredients
Fractionated Coconut Oil, Patchouli, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Rose, Jasmine, Cinnamon, Vetiver, Labdanum, Cocoa Seed, and Ylang Ylang essential oils

Whisper can smell different on each person. When men put it on, it can give off undertones of forest masculine scents or Sandalwood pops. For women it can give off chocolate or rose scents. Depending on where I am at in my cycle, I smell differently when I apply Whisper. This is probably one of my husband’s favorite oils that I wear, so I only wear it when I have time to pay attention to him. I will roll this on my pulse points and then he runs around the house trying to find where the smell is coming from.

Neroli

Neroli has been called the baby maker on a lot of doTERRA platforms. It increases desire and helps to calm the nerves. This is one that I like to use on my abdomen. My body really responds well to Neroli, so this is one that I use on my body regularly. Did I mention it also smells delicious? This is another oil that I find smells different depending on where I am in my cycle. Most of the time it smells sweet and floral, but at certain times in my cycle it smells a bit more bitter.

Rose

Rose is probably my favorite essential oil that I use every single day; not for libido, but just for the smell and the way my body responds to it. Rose is said to be the oil of divine love and it has a ton of health properties for the immune system that don’t get talked about often enough. I roll Rose on my spine for immune support along with On Guard. If you come give me a hug at any given point though, I probably smell like Rose. It is also great for supporting homeostasis within the body, not just hormone support; essentially this is an oil that you can get a lot of uses out of.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood is especially good for men and it increases physical sensuality. My husband likes to diffuse Sandalwood and Citrus Bliss together; he doesn’t use it for libido support, but he just loves the earthy, grounding aroma. I have a recipe using Sandalwood that is specifically for men in my free spicy eBook, titled Essential Oils to Spice Up Your Love Life. You can find that eBook at the bottom of this blog post. You will also find other spicy recipes for men and women, including some edible massage lotion.

Patchouli

As I mentioned above, Patchouli is not my favorite oil, but for many people this is another natural aphrodisiac. It helps to stimulate desire in many people and calm the nerves. It is a lot like Frankincense and Sandalwood, it also crosses the blood brain barrier – meaning it has a lot of neurological support, aside from libido and hormone support.

Bergamot

Bergamot is a great for elevating mood, increasing serotonin, and increasing self-acceptance. If you experience self-consciousness with your body, try diffusing this oil or putting it on your body and allow that to help release some of that self-criticism.

Geranium

Geranium helps to promote intimacy and increase circulation. This is my 10th year with doTERRA and one of the most common uses I hear in the underground doTERRA world and from my own experience, Geranium really does help increase circulation. A little bit goes a long way, and you will want to dilute it because it can be spicy alone. Use a little bit of fractionated coconut oil or the Yarrow | Pom body serum and dilute around half a drop of Geranium – then apply wherever you would like to feel more circulation. From my experience women have been very pleased with using this tip.

I hope this helps you spice up your bedroom. Remember find what works best for your body, you do not have to use all these oils, some will work better than others. Get the oils on your body and in the diffuser, pay attention to how your body and emotions respond.
