The top ten oils are oils that are included in almost every starter kit, so if you have doTERRA essential oils, you probably have most of these. If you don’t have any essential oils yet, grabbing these oils are a great place to start.

On Guard is doTERRA’s protective blend. This is one of doTERRA’s most popular oils and for good reason. On Guard supports healthy immune function when used internally, it also contains powerful cleansing properties. On Guard can be used to protect against environmental and seasonal threats. It can also be used as a powerful non-toxic surface cleaner in your home. Using On Guard in a diffuser can helps to purify the air in your home as well.

Spend enough time around essential oil people and you will hear the phrase, “when in doubt, use Frankincense. Frankincense can be used to improve the appearance of skin imperfections and it can also be used in a veggie capsule to support healthy cellular function. It is known for supporting healthy cellular, immune, nervous, and digestive function when used internally. It can also be diffused to create a peaceful and satisfying aroma.
One of the ways that I use Frankincense for healthy skin is by adding a drop to my Verage Moisturizer from doTERRA and apply it to my skin every night, especially around my eyes to help reduce the appearance of fine lines.
For cellular support, you can add a drop of Frankincense under your tongue every day to help promote homeostasis within your body. You can also put Frankincense on your feet to support grounding.

Lemon essential oil is a top selling oil among doTERRA customers. It has cleansing, purifying, and invigorating properties. Lemon essential oil can be diffused to purify the air and for an instant mood booster. Add a couple drops to your water for a healthy boost throughout the day. It can also be added to water and placed in a spray bottle to clean countertops and other surfaces in your home. If you have leather furniture in your home, soak a cloth in Lemon oil and wipe down leather surfaces to preserve them or use Lemon oil on silver and other metals to combat the early stages of tarnish.
Lemon is a citrus oil, and all citrus oils are known to be elevating to the mood and cleansing to the environment. You can put Lemon in your diffuser at any time to boost your mood. It pairs well with other oils such as Peppermint, Lavender, Frankincense, or Wild Orange and Frankincense.
Lemon essential oil is great for removing labels, stickers, or anything sticky from glass surfaces. Picking labels off glass jars can be a chore sometimes, but in my experience, Lemon really helps to take labels off easily. For wood surfaces you may want to spot test before using Lemon oil to remove stickers from it.
For cleansing, I recommend adding a few drops to your water every morning to help gently activate the cleansing channels of your body.

Tea Tree essential oil is best known for its purifying properties. Tea Tree oil can be used to cleanse the skin, clean surfaces in the home, and purify the air. It can also be added to water and a spray bottle to clean surfaces in your home.
The way that I used Tea Tree for hair and nail health is by making a spray with ten drops of Tea Tree, Lavender, and Rosemary added to about 2 oz of water, and I spray that on my daughter’s hair every morning before school so that she doesn’t bring those little bugs home in her hair from school. This can also be used on the nails of the feet, for any nail funk you may be experiencing.

Oregano is known as a spice, often used in cooking, but did you know it contains powerful cleansing agents as well? Oregano has many uses that extend outside of the kitchen and it offers powerful antioxidants. According to doTERRA’s website, “The primary chemical component of Oregano is carvacrol, a phenol that possesses antioxidant properties when ingested.” It is recommended that Oregano be diluted with a carrier oil when being applied to the skin. Oregano can be taken internally to support healthy digestion and respiratory function.
Oregano is quite strong, so if you are using it in a pasta sauce you only need to dip a toothpick in the Oregano oil and add that to your pot of sauce; you do not need a full drop.

Create a mouth wash with Peppermint oil by adding a drop of Peppermint oil and a drop of Lemon oil to water. Add a drop or two of peppermint oil to a veggies capsule to alleviate stomach upset. For a mid-day pick me up, place one drop of Peppermint oil and one drop of Wild Orange oil in your hand and inhale deeply.
Peppermint oil can be applied to the temples if you are experiencing head tension. It can also be applied to the back of the neck to help you cool down when it’s hot out or if your body is running hotter than you would like it to you can apply it right along the spine.
Apply a drop of Peppermint oil to your tongue to freshen breath.

It can be added to bath water to soak stress away or applied to the temples and back of the neck to ease head tension. It can also be added to your laundry detergent when washing your bedding. There are so many ways Lavender can be used that I believe everyone needs this essential oil in their home.
Roller Bottle Blend: F.L.O.O.T Bomb (Fight the Funk)
